Winning Players From the Victory Region Kick Off in 16U

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This past weekend had plenty of talent in the 16u division, and there are still kids I'd like to highlight. These kids stand out for multiple reasons, but as usual, I'll do my best to describe these four kids' games and what they do well on the floor.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Cassie Krause</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Some of the things Krause brings to the table fly under the radar, but everything she does makes her difficult to play against. She brings a level of physicality and craftiness that is intriguing to watch. The Wauwatosa native isn't afraid of running through screens to beat the screener to the spot, and Krause drew a few fouls in that manner. Another part of what she did was swipe down at the ball when kids tried to drive through her, and she earned a handful of steals doing that. Everything that involves her playing in close quarters, she's good at.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='514881' first='Nevaeh' last='Wright']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sometimes quick guards can cover up some of the footwork issues they have to work on, but kids with speed and footwork are some of the most aesthetically pleasing guards to watch. There was one step through on a drive that Wright made where she covered more ground than I expected because of how good her footwork is. That aspect of her game is good to go and excites me about how much she can improve quickly, and she's already good.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='542797' first='Grace' last='Dolan']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>All the players that M14 has to do a solid job at playing within their system and being comfortable stepping up when their moment comes. For Dolan, she does a great job driving and staying vigilant of where her teammates are spotting up on the perimeter, and she can fire passes to the corner for the opposite block. Her vision when she gets downhill is outstanding, and her ability to get by her initial defender makes her a dangerous kid in the right situation. She was one of the kids I enjoyed watching the most in Romeoville.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='514889' first='Bella' last='Garcia']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Plenty of people in programs talk about starring in your role, and everyone at Pink Elite does an excellent job of that. Her role involves playing with toughness around the rim and making momentum plays that don't always appear in box scores. She'll earn tie-ups, save the ball from going out of bounds, and things of that nature. However, she converted an and one where she the floor hard, and, I believe, converted her free-throw. From that moment, I couldn't deny how tough she is as a player.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
