Foul trouble pushed Troh into running the point for a good deal of a game at Top 10 Iowa City High during the regular season. The way she handled that assignment went a long way in helping Jefferson pull off the upset. After the Little Hawks fell behind by double digits in the fourth quarter, they tried pressuring the visitors. Troh made sure that tactic was ineffective, consistently breaking the press, settling down the team and facilitating efficient half-court offense. Quickness and speed highlight Troh’s game. The little left-hander sees the court well and gets downhill in a hurry. She’s a sound on-ball defender and can score the rock when an opening arises because teammates are covered. Troh is an old-school point guard.

You could say that the entire Team Iowa 2027 team played really well as a whole this afternoon. It’s definitely hard to pick out only a few but the other guard for their team who really stepped up big was Angie Troh. Troh competes for CR – Jefferson during the Winter season and she is a tough one to stick in front of. Troh keeps it moving. Literally. She is always moving at fast speeds but in control, usually making a play in the assisting or the scoring department of things. When the final buzzer sounded this afternoon, Troh stood out to everyone watching as one of the best on the floor throughout the contest on both ends.

Troh is an electric guard that has a springy step and a fast trigger from deep. If the defender doesn’t step up right away, Troh is always willing to let it go off the catch or dribble with a decent conversation rate and that was something she demonstrated multiple times on Sunday. When it comes to her style on the defensive side of things, she is a risk taker and she understands when she should throw her hands in there for an attempted take away. Team Iowa 2027’s team is going to be a group worth stopping by to watch. They will have some play-makers who are sure to catch your attention. Players like Troh.

is an energizer bunny and her defensive effort was contagious on Tuesday. She’s got quick hands and feet and she was able to pick up on ball handlers’ tendencies quickly, leading to multiple steals throughout the game. I also like the pace she brought to the game – any time she received an outlet pass or brought down the rebound, she was pushing for a fast break. Troh was also able to show off her handle in the half court as well.

A prospect that is going to be in charge of handling and creating for this group is Guard, Angie Troh. Troh is a Top 25 Ranked player out of her 2027 Class here in Iowa and for good reason. She has demonstrated these past two years that she has a swift handle, that she can create off of the dribble, and that she is a very able and willing passer once she gets into the teeth of the defense. She is fantastic at getting all the way to the rim for a sweet finish or she can step out and hit a floater if given the space. Defensively, she creates a lot of chaos. She moves her feet well and she has active hands usually causing some tips/deflections throughout a contest. With this team, I expect her to be a starter on Day 1. She makes things happen and every program needs a player like that on the court.
