This past weekend, Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, CA played host to the the West Coast Summer Splash presented by West Coast Premier. The event was held from July 1-2 and featured some of the top travel teams in CA. I was able to attend the event on Sunday July 2 in the afternoon andfocused on some of the players/teams I have not seen before. Here's a look at some of the standouts I saw.

1. An unselfish player who is capable of being a lead ball-handler/shot creator in the halfcourt. She's patient with the ball, reads the defense and makes the right play/pass. Can be a facilitator in the halfcourt or able to get her own shot. Consistent catch and shoot three-point shooter. Plays off-ball as well and does a good job running the floor in transition.

2. Most of her standout play came off-ball and in non-scoring situations. Knows how to box out and keep opposing players off the glass. Defensively, she has good length and contests jumpers well. Good defensive awareness. She can also switch on screens and keep up with the ball-handler. Offensively, her points came off cuts at the basket or midrange shots off elbow cuts.

3. Malia Ulery - Yucca Valley/Blackwater Elite 17U 2023

Ulery is a confident shooter/scorer who is very fluid on the offensive end. She's a confident/consistent shooter in transition who can pull-up from three-point range or from the midrange. Quick release; able to shoot with defenders in her space. She's a playmaker too. She can get into the lane and dish the ball to cutters around the basket. Runs the floor well in transition as the ball-handler. She's small but she hits the glass very well.

4. Gets good position down low and can hold it with her strength. She can draw contact around the basket and get to the free-throw line. She can play at the elbows and and either pull-up and shoot the little jumper or she can get to the basket and finish. Good offensive rebounder. Off the ball she makes solid cuts to the rim and has good hands ready for the pass.

1. Morgan Seshiki Morgan Seshiki 5'4" | SG Diamond Bar | 2024 State CA - Diamond Bar/ OC Rhythm 17U National Blue 2024

This was my second time this summer seeing Seshiki play.

2. Stella Hoss - Mater Dei/ Why Not Premier 15U 2027

Hoss impressed me as a developing frontcourt player.

4. Amirah Jones Amirah Jones 5'6" | CG Beaumont | 2025 State CA - Beaumont/West Coast Premier 17U National 2025

Jones is a tough, strong player inside.
