The 17U Dynasty Region Championship drew 18 teams and included players from Missouri, Louisiana, New Mexico, Colorado, and all parts in between. Ten earned spots on the event's first and second teams. The all-event third team boasts and "and-1" of its own, making the third team my pick-six ahead of a final post that gives a shout out to those who were selected to the honorable mention list. Enjoy a look at the all-event third team.

Alexus Brownlow, 5'9", PF/SF, McArthus (TX), Houston Lady Nets, 2024 - On a team with some big, strong post players Brownlow was pretty easy to to overlook. When I stopped and watch from time to time, who opposing forwards had the most difficult time gaining floor space from was Brownlow. Very difficult to move and bully. She also had good speed and no quit.

Payton Connor, 6'2", C, New Home (TX), West Texas Shockers, 2024 - At an event full of quality, big centers Connor arguably was the best passer of all of them. We talked about her need to improve her positioning on teammate shots to keep from getting pinned underneath the basket but otherwise she showed game on both ends. Really good at tracking the ball on drives, she showed good hands to catch and finish. Not great hops but she competes well with her size and length. Her entry passes from the top of the key area were quick and catchable.

[player_tooltip player_id='255532' first='Kylie' last='Scott'], 6'2", C, Carl Junction (MO), Missouri Legacy, 2024 - Scott was back on the floor after missing a couple months due to injury so her stamina was not where she normally plays at.

Gavyn Robinson, 5'4", PG, Lakeridge (TX), Team Stay Ready, 2025 - Robinson was among the few guards that caught my eye with IQ plays. Very quick on both ends of the floor, with the ball she was adept at using an opponent's lack of balance and/or poorish positioning defending the ball to blow their doors plum off.

Maya Dodson, 5'9", Durant (OK), C4 Attack, 2024 - I will be very clear now. Dodson does have some work to do the improve her strength and lateral quickness to defend high screens. But I started calling her 'Money' for a reason. She could not be left open. At all. Quickly gets her feet set and boom, another check in the three point made box. Without question the top performing perimeter shooter at the event.

A'niya Hudson, 5'3", PG, Airline (LA), PrimeTyme Family, 2024 - Hudson has consistent bounce to her game. On her pull-up jumper and scoring in transition. One of the best plays of the event was a tricky steal that demonstrated her smarts and quickness of hand. Ball handler protecting weakly working right to left across the free throw circle. Sliding with her, Hudson reached behind the handler's back and off to the races she went. Hudson off to a speed layup. Said ball handler skipped a couple beats wondering what happened before taking off in retreat.
