2024 Rankings: Top Perimeter Defenders

In a guard-heavy game these days, perimeter defense is an intregal part of how well teams defend. Here I take a look at some of the better perimeter defenders in the state.   Beware of these guards when you have the ball because they will take it from you.   [player_tooltip player_id='205664' first='Ava' last='Adams'] North Canyon (Featured Image)   Adams collects steals in bunches. She's tough and fights defensively as hard as any guard in the state. She had a few near triple-doubles that included steals last season. [player_tooltip player_id='205646' first='Eanae' last='Dagons'] Desert Vista   Eanae brings lateral quickness and quick hands to the table. She makes it extremely tough for ball handlers to get where they're trying to go. She is a ball handlers nightmare. [player_tooltip player_id='205674' first='Isabela' last='Molina'] Cibola   Molina has been one of the better defenders in the state for a few years. She uses good anticipation skills when playing on the ball defensively. She also plays the passing lanes well. She's among the returning leaders in steals throughout the state. She plays the passing lanes very well and is good at jumping in weak side gaps collecting steals. [player_tooltip player_id='203873' first='Shay' last='Ijiwoye'] Desert Vista   Shay takes playing defense as a personal challenge. She tries to get the opponent's head and frustrate them. Her next-level foot speed and quick hands make for a tough combination.
