Many basketball experts and minds eventually break down positions even more to get combo guards, “tweeners”, scoring guards, and so forth. Nonetheless, a point guard is very crucial to the game of basketball.
The floor general, coach on the floor, or whatever type of description is given, a point guard that gets the job done is so crucial to the game. The point guard can many times make or brake a team! Therefore, points guards that get the job done and do it well, should be appreciated and never taken for granted! Below are listed point guards in the Class of 2020!
The PLAYERS:
TT Mitchell, Tulsa East Central
5’3, Point Guard, C/O 2020
Strong point guard that handles the ball well. I appreciate her tendency to keep her head up while she has the ball, especially in the open court and transition game. On the defensive end, she moves her feet and changes speeds well in order to effectively defend the ball.
Ahoneste Walker, Edmond Santa Fe HS
5’4, Point Guard, C/O 2020
Quick point guard that drives with some craftiness to get inside the paint and facilitate the ball well. Continuously keeps head up and eyes forward to see what is in from of her. Decent outside shot but she is consistent in her game. Defends the ball well to force opposing guard to make decisions with the ball.
Madison Wheat, Coweta HS
5’4, Point Guard, C/O 2020
Easily stood out with her mechanics and methods in handling the ball from passes and dribbling. Right hand/Left Hand flicks and proper timing in ball handle usage. Definitely not afraid to get inside and rebound based off technique and mechanics in blocking out opposing player.
