Chloe was the player on the court that hustled on every play – on both ends of the floor. She is a confident guard that continued to make big plays for her team. — she handled the ball with poise and she controlled the pace of the game! She shoots the ball well and keeps her teammates involved. Chloe was a true floor general and her team ran VERY smoothly with her up top. It did not matter if it was at the beginning of the game or the end of the game – tired or exhausted — she exemplified good leadership and was a great teammate!
Highlights
Ali Linn
Ali Linn
Ali was a guard that was deceptively quick and fast. She was (probably) the player with the highest IQ at the Freshman Showcase, displaying her knowledge of the game and being able to read the defense & make the right play, time and time again. — while sitting on the team bench, there were a number of times where Ali could be heard assisting the coaches with offensive schemes and letting her teammates know where to be and what the best options were depending on the defense. She is a great ball handler & has a killer hesi that threw a lot of the defenders off. Ali has impeccable range and is a great communicator.
Annabelle Miller
Annabelle Miller
Annabelle was a beast on the boards — I do not think there was a play on either end of the floor where she was not in the mix to grab the rebound or fight for a loose ball. She was able to position herself inside and make it easy for her guards to make the entry pass to her. She was constantly moving inside and did an excellent job of keeping her defender behind her. Miller has a nice touch around the rim and she was a player that gave multiple efforts on countless plays. She displayed 100% effort in transition by sprinting down the floor and filling in the lanes to get the pass from her teammates and finishing at the rim. Defensively, she was a fierce presence and did well protecting her basket!
Richiya Miller
Richiya Miller
Richiya is an athletic guard that displayed high level shooting and aggressive (and, calculated) moves to get to the basket. She was fearless when attacking the rim and maneuvered around the bigger/stronger defenders inside and was able to finish with high efficiency. Defensively, she is quick — & she did well turning the ball handler and getting into the passing lanes to make deflections and stops! Miller is a player that has not even scratched the surface of her full potential — she will be a player that we keep a close eye on as she develops her game and gains more experience!
Kaylee Manning
Kaylee Manning
Kaylee is just now coming off a knee injury and we knew she was not at 100% but that did not stop her from making an impact in all four games at the Freshman Showcase. — she is tall and strong — & she knows how to use her length and strength to her advantage, making it hard for players to get around her and forcing numerous turnovers! She rebounds the ball exceptionally well and did a great job finding her guards to start the transition. She displayed a very nice “up and under” move in the last few games — and, once her knee heals up and she is back to where she needs to be, we expect she will be making more “moves” under the basket and having an amazing high school career!
