Updated PGH New Jersey 2024 Top 5 South Jersey Prospects

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The top five positional breakdowns have now concluded for the updated Class of 2024 rankings with Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey, but from where, we go to regional rankings. Three regions of the state, three sets of rankings to start. Let's start down south with the updated top five prospects in the Class of 2024 from South Jersey.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">No. 1: [player_tooltip player_id='488637' first='Shariah' last='Baynes'] - Paul VI (No. 18 overall)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Baynes is one of two South Jersey players ranked in the top 20, a future Division I prospect who showed great improvement in her junior year with the Eagles. Baynes is a gamer, a hard-worker on-and-off the floor, someone who showed just that during the summer playing AAU ball for Philly Rise. Top-level players play for top-level programs, and Baynes is sure to follow in the ranks of great Paul VI players once her career comes to a close.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">No. 2: [player_tooltip player_id='587999' first='Maya' last='Braxton-Young'] - Woodbury (No. 20 overall)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Braxton-Young sneaks into the top 20 of our overall Class of 2024 rankings at the No. 20 spot, but is the second-best South Jersey prospect among the senior class in New Jersey. She's more than earned this spot and will earn it that much more as the lynchpin for what should be a very competitive Woodbury program this season. Her impact after just one season with the Thundering Herd speaks volumes and her command of the game and of her teammates that quickly is a trait that will catapult her toward playing college ball upcoming.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">No. 3: [player_tooltip player_id='408039' first='Kaci' last='Mikulski'] - Wildwood Catholic (No. 30 overall)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We've gotten a chance to talk about Mikulski plenty in this most recent rankings update as well as in previous stories over the past several years. She's one of the best shooters in South Jersey, if not the best, and is one of the best and most consistent in the state. Her game does tend to ride more heavily on the success of her shooting, but she's become a more varied offensive weapon, one with plenty of range on her shot. Her ability to score rivals that of most anyone in her conference and the region.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">No. 4: [player_tooltip player_id='325212' first='Eva' last='Andrews'] - Paul VI (No. 32 overall)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>From one senior guard at Paul VI to another, we head over to [player_tooltip player_id='325212' first='Eva' last='Andrews'], yet another future Division I prospect who already signed her National Letter of Intent in November. We've already talked about how vital a player Baynes has been for the Eagles, but Andrews might be that much more valuable a commodity. She returns to the lineup as the highest returning scorer, a three-point machine to put it lightly, and a solid all-around guard. We're expecting all-conference honors out of her, no doubt.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">No. 5: [player_tooltip player_id='325194' first='Ana' last='Pellecchia'] - Clearview (No. 35 overall)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The torch at Clearview has ceremoniously been passed from Emma Steidle to [player_tooltip player_id='325194' first='Ana' last='Pellecchia'] and despite losing four key seniors last season, this is Pellecchia's team. She's shown to be a more than capable scorer, truly someone who knows how to score at all three levels, a smart player with great court vision and a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Clearview will need plenty more perimeter shooting from her, but seeing how the rest of her game improved, Pellecchia is really a well-rounded guard, more than ever before.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
