Hinnant has the ability to attack the rim at will. She has a motor and explodes aggressively down hill. She also does a nice job of controlling the tempo, handling the ball and getting her teammates involved. Aaliyah makes good decisions with the ball and is a solid defender.

did well seeing the floor and hitting her teammates with passes leading them to the opening. On defense, she didn’t mind battling against post players in the paint to protect the basket and fight for rebounds. Her movements with the ball led to openings for her teammates as she passed it off.

is a sharpshooter who can hit multiple three-point shots in any game. As a skilled guard, she excels at creating opportunities on the court with her ability to score and get stops. She has tremendous instincts on defense. Hinnant is fantastic at intercepting passes and pressuring the basketball. Her exceptional defense results in over five steals per game for the Saints in the 2024-2025 season. Hinnant’s ability to influence both ends of the court makes her a standout player.

sees the floor very well being able to attack the gaps and make the right play to her teammates underneath the basket. She can take it all the way herself finishing well on both sides of the rim. Her ability to use hesitation moves and crossovers is definitely fun to watch lose her opponents as she blows by them. She’s aggressive on defense creating a lot of pressure for opposing guards even on a full court press.

Early on, the sophomores had to have caught one’s attention. Hinnant was another of those 2027s and is coming off of an AAU season where she wore the uniform of FBC Eclipse Carolina Elite. Her ability to attack the rim is only one element of what is an already well-developed game. That is complimented by what she is able to get accomplished in the passing game. Listed at 5-foot-6, she will find the correct passing lanes and ensure her teammates are involved in the flow of the game. Her defensive game is sound as well. Hinnant averaged 10.5 points per game last season in 31 games for John Paul II Catholic.

was making some nice moves hitting the shot off her jump stop as her defender kept going by her. She pushes the tempo handling it up the court easily weaving in and out of her defender. She was consistently showing off her handles creating her own plays and hitting some nice bounce passes to her teammates for their own bucket.

is exceptionally fast. She can create a steal and get to the other end for a score in a split second. Hinnant is also an unselfish player who makes the right play for her Carolina Elite team. She has fantastic court vision and a strong handle of the basketball in the open court. Hinnant is a player with incredible potential on the court.

Aaliyah Hinnant has a smooth shot executing it well as she makes it from deep. On defense, her head stays on a swivel always knowing where the ball is and preventing her opponent from getting the pass. She came right out in the second half finishing what she had started getting to the rim and finishing strong.
