A Look Ahead to 2018-19:
In what looks to be another close race for the division championship, Barrington and Fremd appear to have the edge for the top spot. Both the Fillies and Vikings have the depth on their rosters to hold off the rest of the division.
Players to Watch in 2018-19
Emily Klaczek Fremd 5’10 Junior: In a conference full of great guard play, Klaczek is a terrific point guard who has great vision and can score from all over the court.
Tori Meyer Barrington 5’9 Senior : An excellent all around guard who averaged 12 points , 4 rebounds and 3 assists this season for the Fillies, Meyer makes plays on both ends of the court that impact the game in many ways. Look for her to help lead Barrington to challenge for the division title next season.
Ruthie Montella Fremd 5’11 Sophomore : An up and coming talent in the northwest suburbs for her class, Montella is a combo inside/outside player whose strength is attacking the rim from the wing area .
Hannah Shulman Conant 5’10 Senior : Shulman excelled in a starting role for the Cougars, she is a combo guard who continued to improve her scoring as the season went on to go along with her savvy passing ability in the open court.
Taylor Thompson Barrington 6’0 Junior: Only a junior, Thompson scores well in the paint by getting excellent position around the rim and is expanding her game out to the 3 point line with a consistent outside shot. She averaged a double -double this season and will be one of the best players in the division/area next season and going forward.
Ari Doroskin Schaumburg 5’10 Senior : Doroskin scores well from the mid -range, behind the arc and is one of the best shooter in the division . She will be asked to score more and rebound to help the Saxons compete in the division .
Raven Wilson Hoffman Estates 6’3 Senior : With a nice soft touch and polished post moves around the rim, Wilson has the potential to one of the best post players in the Northwest Suburbs. She is an active rebounder and has good feel passing the ball from the high and low posts.
