Buse plays with an intensity and urgency unmatched by most. Her tremendous lateral quickness and strong lower body make her a nightmare to be guarded by. In addition to being the reigning TRL defensive player of the year, she is also the offensive engine for the no. 2 Lions. She has the ball on a string and never has to look down and take her eyes off the floor while she scans for passing lanes. Buse loves to push the ball in transition after rebounds, and that directly leads to offensive explosions like the Lions’ 90-point game against Oregon City on January 30. She just never lets up, and her teammates follow suit.

continues to impress as a next-level playmaker and modeled leadership through positive persistence on both ends of the court every game at the Capitol City Classic. Buse tallied 11 points and 10 assists in the championship win against South Medford. She’s strong on the bounce and consistently makes the right read downhill to create for others or go herself. Plus, she’s one of the best defenders in the state who keeps her head and adjusts after the whistle doesn’t go her way. Oregon’s No. 1-ranked junior is averaging 15.2 points, 6.4 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game this season.

is a standout Junior at West Linn High School. She’s an impressive guard who is a knockdown shooter and isn’t afraid to attack the hoop under pressure. On defense, her jumping ability and strength allows her to grab rebounds over taller opponents. She has a quick first step and a quick release on her shot.
This past weekend at Hoops for Hope, Kaylor was blowing past many defenders and truly dominating. I witnessed her and her West Linn teammates compete against one of the toughest teams. Kaylor’s confidence and strong competitive play, helped carry them to victory and into the finals. When I asked Kaylor what she liked about this particular event? She said, she liked that it brought the community together and created a fun atmosphere for everyone to go out and hoop.

rises as Oregon’s top player in the class of 2027. She’s coming off an impressive sophomore showing and is poised to have another big year. Buse is a high-character, high-motor, high-IQ competitor who impacts the game on both ends of the floor. With a long wingspan and a strong frame, she can facilitate, score from all three levels, and frustrate the top point guards in the state.
The rising junior is a loyal and resilient leader who consistently delivered a strong national showing for Northwest Select this spring and summer on the competitive Select Events Power 24 circuit. Her hard work and high performance have earned her multiple D1 offers.
In her sophomore year at West Linn, Buse averaged an efficient 16.3 points (shooting 51% from the field), 5.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists (1.24 assist/turnover ratio), 3.4 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game. She led the Lions over eventual state champion Tualatin to win a share of the Three Rivers League title and was named to the First Team All-League.
In the 6A state playoffs, the All-League Defensive Player of the Year made a game-winning block in an upset over Benson and led West Linn on an impressive 6A state tournament run to earn 4th place. Buse was a top-four scorer at the Chiles Center, averaging 20.3 points (shooting 52% from the field) and trailed only Jazzy Davidson in field goals made per game. Buse was also a top-three rebounder, averaging 9 per game. She earned an All-Tournament Second Team selection and was also named to the 6A All-State Honorable Mention list.
West Linn should return its core lineup and rival Tualatin for the Three Rivers League and OSAA 6A title this upcoming season.

Buse is so valuable, a complete guard! She fills the stats in all areas! Nailing big buckets from outside! Knows how to get free on back door cuts. Gives the team adrenaline with her defense- picks pockets and passes. (Below with ball)

An all-around guard who competed at a high level with energy and skill. Can knock down shots at each level, was strong at the rim, and showed a real nice stroke out to three. She made a couple of big blocks both coming from the help side and trailing the play that highlighted the intensity she plays with. Very reliable with the ball in her hands and was a key player for NW Select all weekend.
