Boardwalk Showcase STANDOUTS

Hoop Group put together a LOADED LINEUP for this year's Boardwalk Showcase that featured some of the state's top teams, including #1 Morris Catholic and #2 St. John Vianney. Host site Brookdale Community College was rocking as the crowd watched incredible action unfold in an upset-filled day!   Ocean Township upset St. Rose, 35-30   [player_tooltip player_id='333322' first='Kayden' last='Clark'] | Ocean Township   Kayden was the difference-maker in pulling off the upset putting up 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. She did whatever she wanted as the defense sagged off and couldn't quite figure her out. She was tough, tenacious and willed her team to victory.   [player_tooltip player_id='559070' first='Jada' last='Lynch'] | St. Rose   Jada was a bright spot for the Purple Roses, contributing just about half of her team's total points (14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal). She showed why she's one of the best sophomores in the state with her ability to score at will and use all of her nearly 6-foot frame to crash the glass and make a huge impact on defense.   Trinity Hall upset St. Thomas Aquinas, 49-35   [player_tooltip player_id='406947' first='Nina' last='Emnace'] | Trinity Hall   The slashing Harvard-bound guard was clicking on all cylinders putting together a masterful performance: 16 points, 4 assists and 8 steals. Her ability to excel on both sides of the ball was key to the Monarchs pulling off the big win; efficient multi-level scoring and scrappy, blue-collar defense.   [player_tooltip player_id='559080' first='Jordan' last='Barnes'] | St. Thomas Aquinas   The 6'0" wing made her presence felt in this battle, imposing her will in and around the paint and pulling down rebounds with authority. Averaging just under 15 points per game, Jordan has had a basketball "glow-up" this season, taking her game to new heights and really asserting herself!   Blair upset St. John Vianney, 49-38   [player_tooltip player_id='333321' first='Kennedy' last='Henry'] | Blair   It may seem like an upset on paper but MAPL national power Blair, led by Virginia Tech commit [player_tooltip player_id='333321' first='Kennedy' last='Henry'], is known to be a juggernaut squad. She had Vianney's defense scrambling to contain her, sinking buckets from the mid-range and beyond. She tallied 16 points, dished out 4 assists and swiped 4 steals in the Bucs huge win.   [player_tooltip player_id='559135' first='Stella' last='Lockhart'] | St. John Vianney   One of the biggest stock-risers in the Sophomore Class, Stella did her thing and led the way for Vianney against the mighty Bucs: 10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Playing what I refer to as "big guard basketball," she was assertive and aggressive, breaking down the defense and putting her team in positions to win the ball game.   Morris Catholic holds off Red Bank Catholic, 49-46   [player_tooltip player_id='333305' first='Mya' last='Pauldo'] | Morris Catholic   One half of Puma signee Twin Back Court, Mya sizzled in the Crusaders' victory over an extremely tough RBC squad. She was locked and loaded from the jump, accounting for almost half of her team's scoring: 20 points, 3 rebounds and 5 steals. The two-way guard broke down defenders, was efficient around the rim, lit it up from the mid-range and locked down on defense.   [player_tooltip player_id='559085' first='Addison' last='Nyemchek'] | Red Bank Catholic   Addy's length, speed and efficient all-court game made things incredibly difficult for Morris Catholic. She did work around the paint, pouring in 11 points and pulling down 7 boards. She also distributed 3 assists and snatched up 5 steals, dazzling the crowd at Brookdale with her energetic two-way game. Addy is a certified MATCH-UP NIGHTMARE!   Manasquan escapes Gill St. Bernard's, 41-38   [player_tooltip player_id='559069' first='Jordyn' last='Hollawell'] | Manasquan   Jordyn did a little bit of everything in the Big Blue Warriors narrow escape of GSB. She chipped in 8 points and pulled down 6 boards, proving herself as one of the Shore Conference's toughest rebounding guards (standing at a whopping 5'6"!) She connected for two deep 3's and gave us a glimpse of what she is capable of from behind the arc!   [player_tooltip player_id='591477' first='Gandy' last='Malou-Mamel'] | Gill St. Bernard's   The UConn-bound big put forth an impressive effort in the heated match-up with the mighty Manasquan. She did work around the rim, pouring in 15 points and grabbing 9 rebounds in the process. Gandy showed off strong post moves, a never-say-die mentality and growing confidence in her overall game.
