Patterson has established herself as one of the premier young sharpshooters throughout the Palmetto State. She was part of a Clinton team that was a consistent contender from start to finish throughout the 2A ranks. While her long-range game is well-developed, the next three seasons of Patterson at the high school and travel ball levels will give her plenty of time to develop her overall game. She averaged six points last season for the Red Devils. Patterson is another that has more experience than the typical 2029 given she has also played at the varsity level since her seventh grade year and is also putting emphasis on playing softball at Clinton.

An elite shooter that can get her shot off from beyond the arc making sidestep threes, pull up jumpers off the bounce, or floaters in the paint. If this kid continues to work she has a ton of upside. She is smooth with her scoring and shifty with her handles. Emma needs to get stronger with her body frame so she can take the contact when getting to the rim. Otherwise, Patterson will be on a lot of radars moving forward.

Patterson, at first, encountered struggles in 2A Clinton’s matchup with 5A Division 2 Nation Ford. When she began draining 3-pointers in the third quarter at her typical consistent rate, the Red Devils began to put plenty of distance between themselves on the Falcons. Patterson also plays softball in addition to her basketball achievements and is beginning her third season at the varsity level given she first played as a seventh grader. While thriving from behind the arc, Patterson has the ability to attack the basket and can help her team even when she does not have the ball in her hands – such as with the screens she will set. Patterson also scored 17 in a win over 2A High Point.
