Kasey Bretones Kasey Bretones 5'10" | PG Mainland | 2024 State NJ – Mainland (2024)
Mainland felt like a team of destiny, and its destiny was hoisting the Group 3 state title on Sunday. What an effort from the Mustangs, starting with senior Kasey Bretones Kasey Bretones 5'10" | PG Mainland | 2024 State NJ , as the cream rose to the top in the win. A perfect 6-of-6 from the line, Bretones finished with 16 points, four rebounds, a team-high six assists and a steal. She was doing everything on the floor and had plenty of success doing it.
Bella Mazur Bella Mazur 5'8" | SG Mainland | 2024 State NJ – Mainland (2024)
Mazur’s high school curtain call was a 20-point masterclass for a state title and a 31-1 season, showing just why she’s been a focal point and vocal leader on this team. She also added in a block and four steals to her total, shining on both sides of the floor. This Mainland team was stacked from top to bottom, and with Mazur conducting the show, there was no stopping them.
Arden Alvarez – Chatham (2025)
In this top-15 state final matchup, Chatham came up just short of the Group 3 championship, but still has a sectional title and state title game appearance to show for this season. It also has quite a premier player returning next season Arden Alvarez, scoring 19 points along with three assists. Sunday’s performance was her 12th game scoring in double-figures and third 19+ point effort of the season.
Briana Holt Briana Holt 6'3" | C University | 2026 State NJ – University (2026)
Sunday was a career day for Briana Holt Briana Holt 6'3" | C University | 2026 State NJ and no one found a way to stop her on the floor for University. All she did against Shore was post a 20-point, 24-rebound double-double, a career-high in rebounds for her and the first 20-20 game of her career, as the Phoenix took care of business in an 85-55 victory. There was no doubt amongst that team, and full faith in Holt to hold down the fort in the middle.
Paradise Fisher Paradise Fisher 5'6" | PG University | 2025 State NJ – University (2025)
It was the perfect ending to Paradise Fisher Paradise Fisher 5'6" | PG University | 2025 State NJ ‘s third high school season, now a state champion in all three with the Phoenix after Sunday’s result. She is getting better and better by the year, and in a state title game, she put up insane stats overall, finishing with 17 points, six rebounds, four assists, a block and six steals, her 13th game this season with six or more steals.
Kimi Sayson Kimi Sayson 5'3" | PG Shore | 2025 State NJ – Shore (2025)
For the third-straight season, Shore came up short in the Group 1 state title game to University, but there’s already much to look forward to next season thanks to Kimi Sayson Kimi Sayson 5'3" | PG Shore | 2025 State NJ , among others. The junior made her mark on this season in the title game with a 15-point effort, along with five rebounds, three assists and a steal. She was a perfect 6-of-6 from the line and really showcased a lot of poise and promise for the future.
