Expert Analysis
Akeem Webb | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
The top scorer in Louisville, averaging 22 points per game, Carr has been the go-to player for PRP all season. She possesses a lightning-quick first step and is extremely shifty, creating separation easily with one or two decisive moves off the bounce. A strong finisher at the rim and in the lane, she also shows nice touch on the dribble pull-up. Carr is a very good distributor and on-ball defender as well and will continue to put the state on notice with her play.

Marryah flies a bit under the radar, but after averaging 17.4 points per game last season, she’s firmly one of the top players in the 6th Region. A hyper-athletic lead guard, she excels in transition and uses her speed and explosive first step to create penetration off the bounce. She’s also a defensive demon who applies relentless ball pressure and consistently comes away with steals.

After watching Marryah Carr Marryah Carr 5'4" | PG State KY compete for Dana Evans Elite during the travel season I knew she was due for a big sophomore year. The 5’4 guard leads PRP in scoring with 17.1 PPG, and has several 20+ point outings this season. Mar’Ryah is a small guard but her athleticism and playmaking ability makes up for it. She has elite speed and she uses it well in the open floor and to beat defenders off the dribble. Mar’Ryah can create her own shot and put her teammates in position to be successful. She is a star on-ball defender who has tremendous instincts and plays passing lanes extremely well.

Marryah Carr Marryah Carr 5'4" | PG State KY cracks the list at 92 but will be ranked much higher when it is all said and done. She averaged 9.1 PPG for PRP last season and did a good job getting to the free throw line, where shot 54% and made 52 out of 96 of her attempts. Mar’Ryah is a high motor guard with tremendous speed and quickness that allows her to be effective in the open court. She is also a lockdown defender that knows how to turn steals into points the other way. The Lady Panthers lost two key players to graduation, so I think she will come into her own this upcoming season.
