As anticipated, the Lindenwood commit had a solid game on both sides of the ball. No matter what DeSoto Central threw at her, they were no match for

, but she still could have used the ball more.
McCarn made her presence felt in the post on offense. She finished with 10 points and six rebounds, with four of them coming from the offensive backboard. McCarn made a fair amount of her money in the pick-n-roll, where she had good awareness for where the pass would be and when to go up for the layup. Occasionally, on high post-ups, McCarn made some nice passes to her cutting teammates.
Defensively, McCarn is known to fill up the stat sheet with blocks. Yesterday, she only rejected one shot, but she did force the opposition to contort their shot when attempting to shoot over her. McCarn also played solid on-ball defense, even when being switched on to a guard. When this occurred, the opposing guard attempted to take her one-on-one, but McCarn moved her feet well and never gave the opposition a lane to the basket.

, she is already off the board after committing to Division I Lindenwood University in June. However, Lindenwood was one of the few D1 schools that offered McCarn after she picked up a plethora of D2 offers. It is difficult to see why more top schools did not send an offer her way with her incredible two-way skillset.
Offensively, McCarn is very different than a lot of other centers equivalent to her size. She of course plays with her back to the basket and scores however she wants, but she cuts extremely well for a big. You would think that at 6’4″, defenders will not lose her if she starts moving without the basketball, but she somehow finds ways to shake them off to score uncontested layups.
On defense, McCarn uses her length extremely well to block shots. She is also patient and has impeccable timing on her blocks. As far as rebounding is concerned, the opposition can not do anything to keep her off the boards. McCarn uses her frame well to grab rebounds, but she is very fundamental in that department, too. McCarn boxes out well and makes sure she grabs every board with both hands.

is one of the best centers in the state of Arkansas, but she still deserves more respect nationally. If she has a strong senior season like I think she will, expect that respect to come pouring in.
