Jeckewicz stood out defensively for GAC late in the game when she was able to use her quick hands on the ball to disrupt the Lady Trojans offense. She was able to cause tie ups and jump balls as well as ripping the ball out for steals. She is a good three point shooter, who also uses the midrange area to score, and is quick enough to get out in transition and score for GAC. Dru was playing with a mask on that has to be uncomfortable and limit her vision, but she was still effective on both ends for the Lady Gladiators. She, along with the rest of her teammates, have to step up in Newman’s absence, something she is capable of doing.

Jeckewicz was impressive for GAC once again shooting the ball from the perimeter where she scored from both outside and inside the three point line. This game she drove the ball to the basket more than I had seen before which will only help her and GAC as the season continues to roll on. She is bouncy with the ball and deceptively quick. If she can be a consistent, reliable threat for GAC in the postseason, then the middle opens up for her talented teammates to drive and operate in the post. This could give the Lady Spartans the chance to make another deep run in the GHSA playoffs coming up.

I loved the hustle of Dru against Tri-Cities. She dove into the bench to save a loose ball. The masked Jeckewicz is bouncy on her toes, always ready to pounce. She can play either guard position and is usually able to wear down opponents with her effort. Dru sank a corner three in the fourth quarter, part of her 5 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. I think she is an effective full court defender.

Keep an eye on Dru moving forward. Jeckewicz is an athletic and agile guard with a good motor. She turned heads at camp with her playmaking off the dribble. Dru did well at creating offense for others as a drive-and-kick playmaker. She feeds the post well and can score downhill.
