The Skyline Shootout served as a warm-up for many of the DFW’s top girls' basketball teams. They filled the gym with state title contenders and tons of collegiate prospects. This list holds the name of five players likely to garner some attention once the season officially tips on November 8th. <div></div> <h4>Kennedi Johnson Freshman Skyline</h4> <div>Johnson is the only freshman on this list and if her play at the Skyline Shootout is any indication of what she’ll do this season, she’ll make a splash this season. The young guard is a speedy ball-handler with a solid jump shot. Even as one of the smaller players on the court she’s not afraid to miss it with the trees and grab rebounds. She’ll likely share time with last year’s returning lead guard but she’ll show off skills that will make her career one to watch.</div> <div></div> <h4></h4> <h4> Alissa Williams Sophomore Braswell</h4> <div>This sophomore should already have a buzz about her after a promising freshman season. Williams has a great build for the game standing around 6’1” with long arms. She plays all five positions showing guard like skills on the break and post moves in the half-court. Williams is a prospect to watch thanks to a strong foundation and a ton of versatility.</div> <div></div> <h4>Alexis Brown Senior Lincoln<span style="font-size: 1.5rem"> </span></h4> <div>Brown is one of the most dangerous scorers on this list. She scores from all three levels with a knack for shooting the long ball with consistency. She gets to the line with ease averaging 6 trips to the stripe during the 3 game series she played on September 7th. The senior guard is incredibly shifty and uses quick deceptive movements to get anywhere she wants on the court.</div> <div></div> <div></div> <div></div> <div></div> <h4>Donavia Hall Sophomore Plano East<span style="font-size: 1.5rem"> </span></h4> <div>Speaking with the Plano East coach it’s obvious that she says a lot of promise in her star sophomore. Because of a stacked team, last year Hall didn’t play much but now it looks like she’ll be a big contributor. The near 6-foot guard plays with a lot of skill and heart. She’s a gifted athlete that combines size, speed, and strength to dominate the transition game. Hall has a hand in everything on the court don’t be surprised if she finishes the season with multiple triple doubles.</div> <div></div> <h4></h4> <h4 style="text-align: left">Jade Thompson Senior John H. Guyer<span style="font-size: 1.5rem"> </span></h4> <p style="text-align: left">Guyer’s do it all forward is the ultimate Swiss Army knife. She has the size to cover 1-3 and the athleticism to not look overmatched. She’s powerful in when she has a head full of steam leading to a strong transition game. In the half-court, she’s a great slasher who embraces contact. She’s an active defender with ample awareness and lateral quickness. She’ll be a huge factor in Guyer’s attempt to make a deep playoff run.</p>
