The Prep Girls Hoops Missouri June Team Camp Tour was in Shelbina on Thursday to watch the Ladybird Classic at South Shelby.

Here is a look at some of the teams that were in attendance on Thursday. There were many excellent small school teams in the event

South Shelby: The host Ladybirds have another strong squad in the making. They have been without standout forward [player_tooltip player_id='424746' first='Belle' last='Roush'], who is still on the mend from a late-season knee injury. Leading the way is 2025 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='865973' first='Callie' last='McWilliams'], who has speed and three level scoring ability. Charley Roush is a 5'10 2026 forward with a strong presence inside while 2026 Hannah Gaines is a solid all-around wing player. Another good young player in the fold is 2027 guard Reese Maupin.

******

Westran: The Hornets looked very impressive in victories over Macon and Hannibal in the games that I watched. They won 18 games last season and have most of their talent back, led by 5'10" 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='831031' first='Kate' last='Hollmann'], a versatile wing player who excels in the low post and on the perimeter. [player_tooltip player_id='1020860' first='Emma' last='Wortmann'] is 6'0" 2026 forward with good length and a nice shooting touch inside. The point guard is 2026 Jaelyn Miller, who has outstanding speed and defensive ability. Kharigan Fuemmeler and Hadley Harvey are a pair of 2026 wing player who are athletic and can shoot it.

******

Salisbury: The Panthers won 22 games and played for a district championship last season. They looked strong on Thursday in their victory over Louisiana. The Panthers have an excellent inside-outside combination is 2025 forward [player_tooltip player_id='1020445' first='Julia' last='Sloan'] and 2025 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='627257' first='Tori' last='Ricketts']. Sloan is a 5'8" forward who plays much bigger than her actual size with her physical strength and footwork. Ricketts is a talented guard who can run the team and hit open 3-pointers. A couple of other solid guards in the fold are 2025 Carmi Wekenborg and 2026 Ala King. They are very good complimentary players.

*******

New Franklin: The Lady Bulldogs had one of the most impressive guards that I saw during the day in 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='624860' first='Lily' last='Chitwood'], who is an excellent playmaker who can also score. She can also defend very well. Her backcourt partner is 2026 Lydia Burnett who can handle the ball and shoot it well from long distance. Brown can control the action inside as a scorer and rebounder, plus she can also block shots. Meyer has a nice inside-outside game, where she can score in the post or step out and hit shots from the mid-post and beyond the 3-point line. Katie Cook is a 2026 point guard who is the primary ball handler who can also make open 3-pointers to loosen up the defense.

*******

Marion County: The Lady Mustangs have a solid player in 5'9" 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='982987' first='Aylah' last='Pollard'], who is strong with excellent footwork in the post to score against taller players.
