Looking Ahead: Camas HS

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here is a new series of articles I will be coming out with, looking ahead to how teams will look next season. Here we will continue with the 4A state champion, Camas HS.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Camas finished the year going 22-6 and really only losing to out of state teams when they went for tournaments. They had an insanely tough non-conferecne schedule and that is why they were able to push through and win the state tournament. They were the number 1 seed in the tournament and beat the 8th seed Gonzaga Prep in the first round. They then destroyed Tahoma to advance in the semi-final round then beating Sumner in the semi-finals by 12 points. In the 4A state title game, they would meet up against Gonzaga Prep and beat them by 16 points.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Camas will be losing 4 players due to graduation, those four players were all contributors on the team as well. She does a great job at running the offense and being a top point guard in the state. She has outstanding vision, handles, and shooting ability. She will knock down shots at a high rate, finish layups consistently, and hustle hard every play. She fills her role perfectly on the team by knowing how much superstar power is surrounding her. She is a big piece to this Camas team and will be a big time player next year as a senior.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Other players to watch for:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>[player_tooltip player_id='751209' first='Eliana' last='Gibson']</em> - Future star in the 2027 class, will be the teams main ball handler when Thompson graduates. Has the makings to be an all state guard with her high IQ, awareness, and ability to score.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>[player_tooltip player_id='751219' first='Lauren' last='Hood']</em> - Another future star in the 2027 class. Will have a bigger role this season on the court and will showcase her ability to score. She shoots the ball well, especially at the mid-range level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
