About Zoey

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as selfless yet aggressive. I often have aggressive drives, attacks, or movement on the outside, and use that to either score, or pull in defenders to find the better option, or more open player. I work up and down on both ends of the court and have constant hustle.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is very positive. I not only try to bring myself up after mistakes, but my teammates as well, while on and off the court. I like to have the "next play" mentality so when after a mistake, I don't get down on myself or get mad, I learn from the mistake and keep playing, trying to create more opportunities.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

In school, I am apart of FCA(Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and have a leadership role in this club as well. I also plan on attending Key Club and possibly FCCLA in the upcoming year. Some awards that I've received that are non-sports related so far is being on honor roll, making student of the month, and being a standout student during the Winter time.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

A large skill I have developed is leadership. I lead in both my words and actions, always helping teammates know where to go, encouraging teammates, setting an example, setting up plays, cheering on from the bench, and talking on defense.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

At the beginning of Freshman year, I had a large knee surgery due to something called Osteochobdritis Dissecans which set me back quite a bit. I was barely able to play by the time tryouts rolled around, but eventually, I proved myself and even when I wasn't predicted to play at all that season, I had played most of the season and eventually proved myself enough to swing up to varsity.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that can allow me both to have a fun and successful career in basketball, but also in academics so that it can help set me up for a better future. I am looking for a college that has a fun, yet hardworking environment that I feel at home in. I am looking for a college anywhere in the country, and not just in my home of Colorado.

She does everything for the Silver Knights, leading the team in points (19 PPG), rebounds (7.0), assists (2.3) and steals (2.9). She doesn’t shoot from deep often but is effective from midrange to attacking the rim. She’s shooting 48% from the field.
