About Sofia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a point guard who sees the floor and looks for the best opportunity to score whether that be a smart shot or a good pass. I can handle the ball in pressure and shoot the midrange well.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a very hard worker and consider myself pretty coachable.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play varsity soccer and flag football as well as basketball, I am a camp counselor over the summer, I won the Saint Pius X Chiro Award which was an award for, lack of a better term, best all around kid, I was just invited to be apart the student athlete advisory council at my high school, and recently won the english award and health and wellness award for my previous school year.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

From being a camp counselor to volunteering frequently for our schools service hours, i’ve developed skills like leadership and community service which i’ve learned are just as important as any other skill. While developing these skills, i’ve realized I enjoy helping people which is why I would love to go to college to be a nurse.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve struggled with some anxiety when it comes to sports and i’m still learning to overcome these challenges to be the best version of myself on and off the court.

What type of college are you looking for?

Hopefully any place I can play basketball and go to nursing school, while staying sort of close to home.
