About Annika

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Gritty, I do the intangible stuff that no one else wants to do. I dive on the floor for every lose ball. I hustle to grab every rebound even if it means jumping 3 or 4 times. I play aggressive but strong defense, and I will shut down any big girl and keep her from scoring. I can also post up and hold my position against bigger opponents. I am very loud and talkative on both ends of the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m alway intense and give 110% I’m very loyal to my teammates and especially my coach. I train to be the very best because I have big basketball dreams and goals. There are two quotes that always set my mindset and they are “Don’t settle for good when great is possible.”Which is from my coach and “I’m hungrier than those other guys out there. Every rebound is a personal challenge”- Dennis Rodman

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved with serving in my church as a worship leader and a children’s ministry leader. I play the tuba and am very involved in band and music. I have been invited to play in All State honor bands and other local honor bands as well as several solo competitions. I was awarded the Director’s Award for my school and received an English academic award.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed skills such as; Leadership Teamwork Loyalty Dedication Grit Integrity Perseverance

What type of college are you looking for?

My dream is to play D1 basketball, and I will push myself everyday to be better and get one step closer to that goal. I am looking for a school with a good basketball program and a good political science program. I am also interested in Christian colleges.
