A player who’s really stepped up especially as a defender. Jhene has always had eye-catching traits such as her mobility, portability and flashes of unique offensive tendencies. However, the improvement as an interior force defender has made an assured impact on a spirited Lawrence Academy team. Jhene has also shown she can cause havoc on the perimeter too. She moves on the flight of the ball and has great anticipation skills that lead to deflections. Fortunat’s stock is likely rising.

Fortunat has such a high celling. Her skills abilities aren’t easily replicated and the versatile nature of her game make her a nightmare to scheme against. Battling back from injury, the only thing Jhene should focus on currently is her health. Her stock is hard to forget about when she brings such a unique skillset.

What’s intriguing about her is that she’s a big that offers a skillset that’s an instant mismatch. Jhene is quite agile and with this nimbleness, she can be quite the hybrid type of player. Healing is the #1 concern at the moment, but Fortunat is such a drawing big with a high celling.

Fortunat is one of the most intriguing players in the ’28 class. Her skillset makes her standout due to her robust frame combined with the uniqueness of being extremely agile at her size. The polished skill she possesses at 6ft+ while being able to play multiple positions is phenomenal. There’s no question as to why Jhene is getting some big-time attention already. She can play big, operate from the high-post or push the ball in transition as a point forward type of player. On the defensive side of the ball, she’s a terrific shot-blocker and she holds her own on the block. Jhene makes it hard for players attempting to get in the lane with her lateral quickness plus her ability to player vertically. She can even hang with perimeter players on possessions with her nimbleness. Fortunat wasn’t included on the last rankings, but she’s now an indisputable player ranked #4 in the entire class.

Jhene is one of the most intriguing players in the entire ’28 class. Her skillset is extremely unique and there’s nobody that even remotely plays similar. Fortunat is a big that has guard-like skills. The shot is there already from her select spots, but she is steadily improving. She’s trusted to take the ball coast-to-coast after securing the rebound herself. There aren’t too many players her size that have the footspeed Jhene has. The agile movements help her defensively as well. Jhene is a shot-swatter in the paint, but can also slide her feet to keep up with perimeter players for some possessions. Overall, Fortunat is a special talent to look out for.

Jhene is representing the list as the only freshman mentioned. The 6’2 big is very deserving of the consideration due to her unique skillset. Not only does she bring developed over-the-shoulder post moves, but she is mobile and uses a bit of finesse sometimes seemingly as if she has guard-like reflexes. She has a soft touch around the rim too. What puts a player like Fortunat over the top is her ability to dribble and become sort of a point forward in some respects. The defense from the 6’2 emerging star is more than solid where she brings that same adaptability from offense. She has the ability to disrupt post player attempting to score down low and holds her ground while playing vertically, she can even guard perimeter players from a select moments. Jhene is surely a player to keep an eye on this season.

One of the most intriguing prospects in the entire class, Fortunat is a player that has an extremely high upside. The 6’2 future star looks like a prototypical big due to her size, but her riveting footwork and finesse moves come to the surprise of many. Jhene offers some guard like moves in transition that amount to her getting to the rim with ease. Fortunat has a nice handle that is used effectively to bait most of the bigs that come out trying to guard her outside the paint. Jhene can extend her game with a solid 3-point shot that she confidently takes throughout games. As a defender, Fortunat brings that same versatility from offense to this side of the ball. She alters shots at the rim, boxes out and is a sound rebounder underneath. Jhene is a player with a tremendous amount of potential. NEPSAC will get a chance to see her this year playing with Lawrence Academy.
