Rising Prospects In Michigan’s Class Of 2019
With summer winding down and grassroots season coming to a close, its time to look at some prospects and where they stand. Some prep players had nice spring and summer performances, and we will see them rise in the prospect rankings. Michigan’s class of 2019 has proven to be very talented with many skilled athletes.
Here is a look at five players from 2019 that should rise in the rankings based on their development and performance during grassroots season:

Prep Girls Hoops Ranking: #81
Eckhout is the definition of a student athlete. She holds a 4.13 GPA and carries that intelligence to the basketball court as well. Eckhout plays smart and efficient basketball. She is an excellent distributor who can score as well. Eckhout could be a top 50 player in the 2019 class.
Sydney Shafer Sydney Shafer 5'10" | SG Jackson Northwest | 2019 State MI (G, Jackson Northwest, Michigan Mystics )
Prep Girls Hoops Ranking: #48
Shafer committed to Western Michigan University in July. She is one of the top shooters in Michigan and has been known to light up a scoreboard from deep. Shafer has top 10 type talent and should see herself ranked in the top 20 relatively easily.
Olivia Brown (G, East Grand Rapids, MBA)
Prep Girls Hoops Ranking: #27
Brown has received multiple Division 1 offers this summer. She is a floor general who puts teammates in scoring position and delivers the ball when they get there. Brown is one of the toughest players in the state. She should find her way into the top 20 in the 2019 class.

Idoni is fun to watch. The Ferris State commit is intense and disciplined. Idoni is one of the elite post players in Michigan. She has a versatile skill set to go with her size.

Smith is one of the most versatile athletes in Michigan. She is a tough matchup for any team she squares off against. Smith scores and rebounds at an elite level. She has top 10 talent.
