What a month it's been for recruiting in New Jersey, mainly on the commitment front as we saw nearly a dozen players commit to playing basketball at the next level statewide. Here's a quick look at some of the recruiting news that came across our feed over the course of August.

[player_tooltip player_id='879764' first='Michelle' last='Steele'] - Holmdel (2025) commits to Thomas Jefferson

Steele is the latest commit that we've seen in New Jersey as the Holmdel rising senior is taking her talents to Thomas Jefferson. She's been an importance piece in the Hornets' frontcourt over the past few seasons, especially as a junior, reaching career-highs across the board. We want to see her really take control of the boards as a senior and start racking up double-doubles like we know she can.

[player_tooltip player_id='559077' first='Sidney' last='Smith'] - Roselle Catholic (2026) offered by Bryant

Big things are coming for [player_tooltip player_id='559077' first='Sidney' last='Smith'] as college coaches continue to watch what she's doing on the basketball court. Bryant is the latest school to take notice as they offered the rising junior, who unfortunately played just 19 games as a sophomore. What we saw from her as a freshman is what she's capable of on the court, a 15-point scorer that knows how to light things up from deep and then some.

[player_tooltip player_id='636210' first='Kacie' last='Bush'] - Morristown (2025) commits to Saginaw Valley State

Morristown is going to have an interesting season after quite the senior class last year, but one player following the steps of those seniors is [player_tooltip player_id='636210' first='Kacie' last='Bush'], who committed to Saginaw Valley State in August. Balanced player overall, from three-point shooting to interior play, rebounding and rim protection. She's going to be one of a few main players on this team, and she'll have to step up into a massive role to help fill the void this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='591478' first='Tessa' last='Lozner'] - Gill St. Bernard's (2025) commits to Johns Hopkins

A great high school player, great leader and an even better person off the court, Lozner will be headed to an athletics program that knows how to win across the board in Johns Hopkins. She's easily one of the best passers that we've seen in the Class of 2025, let alone across the board in New Jersey. Can facilitate a plethora of scorers and is finding more and more ways to score on her own.

[player_tooltip player_id='414422' first='Mia' last='Semioli'] - Chatham (2025) commits to Hamilton College

What we've seen from Semioli over the past three years is consistency and dominance, a big reason why she's headed to Hamilton College next year. She's a natural-born leader and has shown that on the floor. Something that's been fun to watch is her increased three-point shooting excellence, something that we've known is coming. It's just great to see it in full bloom as this multi-faceted player only continues to grow.

[player_tooltip player_id='333334' first='Riley' last='Fitzpatrick'] - Barnegat (2025) commits to Stockton

Fitzpatrick turned in a massive season as a junior for Barnegat and with a massive season comes attention and recognition from the next level. She's turned that into a college commitment, heading to Stockton next year. It's well-deserved for one of the most improved shooters and scorers in the State, especially on the Jersey Shore. Great defensive player also from what we've seen recently.

[player_tooltip player_id='414402' first='Jessica' last='Devine'] - Middlesex (2025) commits to East Stroudsburg

Devine was an elite-level player as a freshman and sophomore, an all-conference talent and easily one of the best scorers and all-around players in the state. Then came her junior year and 23-point scoring averages, as well as nearly seven rebounds and six assists a game, coupled with incredible three-point shooting. No wonder why East Stroudsburg wanted to scoop her up to add to their program for the next few years.

[player_tooltip player_id='782582' first='Morgan' last='Kottka'] - St. Thomas Aquinas (2025) commits to Swarthmore College

Kottka has moved around over her first three years in high school, but what hasn't changed is her demeanor on the floor and her success that she's shown, especially at the AAU level. She'll be headed to Swarthmore College, going across the Delaware River to Pennsylvania. Plenty of raw talent and high upside with her height and a great feel of the court in the paint. Very impressive prospect to watch when she's getting playing time.

[player_tooltip player_id='414239' first='Lilly' last='Riggi'] - Trinity Hall (2025) commits to East Stroudsburg

One of the more intriguing forwards from the Class of 2025, Riggi is going to have a New Jersey teammate on her roster as she committed to East Stroudsburg earlier this month. While we've seen her potential on the basketball court during the AAU season, we've been waiting to see her have that all-conference level breakout season in high school, which we think is coming up for her senior campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='844403' first='Penelope' last='Swarn'] - Hightstown (2025) commits to Howard

Talk about a rim protector. Swarn is that and more, putting that on full display as a junior for Hightstown. That program has a knack for developing great frontcourt pieces, and it looks like this rising senior is going to join in the ranks as she committed to Division I program Howard in August. She nearly averaged a double-double a game, plus more than three blocks a game, just absurd numbers all-around.

[player_tooltip player_id='651496' first='Ashley' last='Kreiger'] - Ranney (2027) offered by Dayton, Columbia, Princeton

Time to head to the future of high school girls basketball in New Jersey, the class of 2027, starting with [player_tooltip player_id='651496' first='Ashley' last='Kreiger'], who's gotten the attention of a few Division I programs with offers this month. Princeton is among the standouts, not shocking at all for the 6-2 forward. Great offensive season as a junior, but we're waiting for her to unlock that defensive potential we know will come in due time.

[player_tooltip player_id='789189' first='Brooke' last='Stagliano'] - Paul VI (2027) offered by Drexel

This article ends with talking about yet another Class of 2027 prospect in [player_tooltip player_id='789189' first='Brooke' last='Stagliano'], representing South Jersey down at Paul VI. She got some local love, earning an offer from Philly Division I program Drexel in August. One of the best young shooters out there for sure, Stagliano has made a living from beyond the arc and we can't wait to see how she develops her offensive game from here.
