I like McQueeney as a lead guard because she can help elevate the other four players on the floor. She is a kid who can move the ball and get her teammates the ball when they’re open, and keeps her head up with the ball in her hands. McQueeney has shown she can run an offense and help generate open looks for her team on the offensive end of the floor. She is also a competitive defender and can make opposing lead guards uncomfortable.

Monona Grove had most of a rotation to reconfigure, and they got a new head coach in the process, granted it was their assistant for a few years. McQueeney stepped into a reserve role and did plenty of positive things in her minutes. She didn’t take many difficult shots, controlled the offense well, and kept things flowing. I thought she was everything you’d hope a reserve guard would be, and I’m eager to see her continue to expand her game this AAU season.
