The #1 ranked player out of Texas out of the 2025 Class is Aaliyah Chavez and many recruiters are labeling her as the best offensive talent coming out of high school that anyone has seen in a long, long time. Following her Nike EYBL 17U Championship run with her CyFair Elite team, Chavez named off her Top Six schools that are still in the running for her commitment. The schools she listed were LSU, South Carolina, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA, and Oklahoma. Obviously Chavez is going to stay down South but I’m not exactly sure where she will land. She is going to be a Day 1 starter to any school in the country so it all comes down to location preference and what each program can offer her in the end.

“Offensively is the real deal. Her ability to get the ball to go through the hoop at such a high rate is very impressive to say the least. I don’t even think impressive would be the word to describe it to be honest. The feel she has for her own game, basketball from a situational perspective, mixed with her confidence makes for an elite competitor. Whoever gets her at the next level is getting someone who could single handedly beat some programs because of her scoring ability alone.”

Aaliyah was legit getting face guarded the entire game and she saw not just double teams or triple teams, there were occasions when she had 4 players on her trying to stop her. I have never seen anything like that, not even on the boys side. She has the ability to manipulate the ball in a way that is just different. Her range and precision is unreal. She was 6-6 from beyond the arc at one time and finished with 33 points and beat one of the best teams in Utah. With various college coaches in attendance and a semi full house everyone got their moneys worth.
