Alayna’s hard work and commitment to training showed during Hope Elite Camp. She made it look like the dribble series station was already a part of her daily routine. Alayna moved the ball between her legs and switched hands with ease, keeping her eyes up throughout the drill. Her quick feet, fluid movements, strong dribbles, and upright posture stood out amongst the group. Alayna shot the ball confidently and accurately from beyond the arc during the Shoot-Away drill. Her unselfish passing and instincts as a facilitator resulted in multiple assists on kickouts to open teammates on the perimeter during games.

Alayna has the basketball IQ, instincts, effort, and fundamental skills of a college point guard. Her performance on both ends helped Team Fever have a successful day at the Headliners Invitational. She jumped into the passing lanes to grab steals and made a perfect lob-entry pass into the low post for an assist. Alayna changed directions with a quick double-crossover dribble to beat her defender and pushed the ball with pace using both hands in transition. One of her best moments was when she set her defender up using a crossover, between-the-legs dribble combination, blew by through the gap, and finished with a soft touch off the glass through contact. Glen Lake will be a tough team to beat this winter, and Alayna looks ready to have an outstanding junior season.

Alayna had a breakout travel season with Great Lakes Grind and I’ve had the opportunity to see her compete many times over the past few months. She’s extremely competitive. Alayna buries three-pointers, facilitates the rock, and creates turnovers with her active defense. Her all-around impact will stand out at the Headliners Invitational on Sunday.

Alayna is an outstanding facilitator, and her unselfish style helped set up teammates at the PGH Expo. She worked hard on the defensive end, using quick hands and anticipation to create steals. Alayna delivered passes on the money for assists and pushed the ball in transition confidently with both hands. She’s a multidimensional point guard who can light it up with her three-point shooting.
