I’ve talked about the athletic tools, and everyone I know who’s seen her play has all had nothing but good things to say about her after seeing what she can do. Schwem has the athletic tools to be an excellent two-way player, and her athleticism has translated against better competition at the grassroots level. There is usually a handful of players who help themselves more than anyone else in the state every AAU season, and there is a real chance Schwem turns more heads than anyone expected by the time it’s all said and done.

I have talked about the defensive tools Schwem has as a guard, and I’m eager for regional coaches to see her play in Appleton this weekend. She is a player who isn’t from a traditional talent bed in Viroqua, but will likely be the most athletic kid on the floor in every game her team plays this weekend, by a wide margin. I would not be surprised if she impressed a handful of coaches who see her play this weekend because of how impactful she can be on both ends of the floor.

Watching Schwem’s game back on stream is one of the most entertaining things for me. She plays high school basketball, knowing she’s significantly more athletic than everyone else on the floor, and plays accordingly. Granted, she’s not playing against the top talent in Wisconsin at Viroqua, but the athletic tools are real. She can be a handful on both ends of the floor at the next level, and there is still plenty of room for her to grow as a player.
