As of the end of Summer in 2024, I was hearing reports that Alyssa was unfortunately done playing due to injury issues. But by opening night, she was in uniform for Corydon. As the season progressed, she got better and better, and by the end she had averaged 14.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. She is a dynamic ball-handler with a creative instinct. She can create separation and find open teammates, but she’s also a very good perimeter shooter. I’m not sure if she has reevaluated college as an option at this point.

Murphy is another key piece for Mercy as she is going to be their primary ball handler. She can handle pressure and she can make some really great passes. Murphy is also the 2nd leading scorer on this Jaguars squad, averaging 14.3 PPG. What makes her special is her intensity on both ends of the floor. She’s able to apply a ton of pressure to opposing team’s ball handlers and is also able to get into the passing lanes for steals. She deserves a lot more recognition for what she brings to the floor, but Mercy certainly knows how important she is for them.

Another excellent floor general, Murphy has really been showing how much value she brings to the floor. She can score on outside shots, floaters, layups, jump shots, etc. She can handle the ball, she makes great passes, and she’s a solid defender. Murphy is a competitor in every sense of the word. She finished the game with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.
