AnnMarie had a great day for Team Liberty at the P2W Headliners Invitational Showcase. She crashed the glass to secure offensive rebounds, swiped multiple steals on defense, and finished layups in traffic. AnnMarie handled the ball confidently with both hands, creating space from defenders with effective crossovers and pivot dribbles. She maintains good balance and footwork, which makes her a constant threat from beyond the arc. AnnMarie drained a smooth step-back three off a dribble handoff during 3v3 and swished a corner three during 5v5. She’s an impactful two-way guard who facilitates well and scores at all three levels.

AnnMarie is a physical, skilled, and key contributor in the Blissfield lineup. She switches hands confidently to create space with her dribble and drives with determination to the basket. AnnMarie catches passes, balanced and ready to fire on the perimeter. She was locked in during a 24-point performance against Onsted, draining five three-pointers. AnnMarie distributes accurate passes from different angles and is constantly pressuring ball-handlers to force turnovers. She finishes well using either hand and has a good floater game.

AnnMarie had the opportunity to play meaningful minutes with the ball in her hands on Thursday and I really liked what I saw in her game. AnnMarie used a quick spin move to beat her defender downhill and score a left-handed layup. She used a shot fake in the corner then drove by for a baseline floater. AnnMarie swiped the ball away many times and delivered a variety of confident passes with both hands. She forced a travel with her full-deny defensive pressure and secured rebounds. AnnMarie poured in 8 points and is a guard with a ton of potential.

Scharer had a great day at The Freshman Showcase. AnnMarie is a tough defender who was constantly causing tie-ups and getting deflections. She is a great team player who is always willing to give up a shot for herself to get her teammate a better shot.

Scharer put her name on the map this summer and the Freshman Showcase would be a great opportunity to extend it even more. She played up with the Michigan Cobras 2027 team and did a more than admirable job. Scharer defended the perimeter well and forced turnovers. She also showed the ability to see the action and find teammates in scoring positions.
