Woldai sold me before high school with her energy and feistiness on the defensive end so watching her develop her offensive game has been a pleasure. She’s one of the most explosive guards in Texas while staying under control and she showed that last as she kept her team close earlier but she also showed her range and the “stop and pop” 3 looks UTEP ready

I love seeing people write “I been telling y’all about this kid” but more times than not, they haven’t and have no proof. I caught her before high school in 2020 and even though I didn’t need perfect vision to know what was coming. She’s one of the most underrated PLAYERS in Texas but I base things on how the game used to be played and she’s THROWBACK on so many. She scores however you want it but her unselfishness and ability to get others involved is very nice. Baseline to baseline, she’s one of the best defenders in the state, all classes included

Woldai has been electrifying since I first caught her prior to high school and when you bring the type of energy she brings on both ends of the court, it shouldn’t take someone that knows what they’re looking at to comprehend what she brings to the table. Her handling the ball under pressure going full speed and threading the needle from 20 feet away was on display, so was her leaving the defender cemented to the floor as she accelerated both in the set as well as in transition. She dropped the midrange with a hand in her face, showed the long ball yet her “on the ball” pressure was smothering baseline to baseline

Woldai is a player that I already know what I’m going to get every chance I get to see her because she’s falls into that “never takes a place off” on both ends group and she can change the momentum of a game from either end. Her explosiveness coupled with court vision in transition is among the best in Texas as she can “threes the needle” from 20 feet going full speed yet watching her attack and finish after contact, at times acrobatically had me smiling. Her “on the ball” defense is also among the best from guards in the state

Woldai is one of those players that sold me the first time I saw her because of her #THROWBACK mindset and since she also falls into that “never takes a play off” type of player, it’s easy for me to comprehend what I’m looking at. Her smothering defense baseline to baseline helps to create turnovers, so do her quick hands and playing the passing lane yet she blows by defenders to score off the dribble, acrobatic finishes after contact, body control plays a part in that. She can drop the jumper from outside yet watching her thread the needle in the set and in transition for assist opportunities have gotten even better

Woldai is one of the most underrated guards in her class and when you have a player that “never takes a play off” on either end, well that’s special yet her energy level creates problems on both ends of the floor. Her on the ball pressure creates turnovers, she plays the passing lane and when you factor in her court vision in the open court as her blistering passes to teammates gives them good looks. She’s explosive off the dribble to either score attacking the basket or dropping the jumper
