Winfield plays with nonstop energy and applies pressure on both ends of the floor. She handles the ball well, showing control with moves like between-the-legs and behind-the-back while facilitating offense. Her ability to disrupt defensively and create off the dribble continues to elevate her impact with PSB Richmond.

April brings a nonstop, feisty energy that impacts both ends of the floor. Defensively, she can pressure the ball on her own, disrupting tempo and throwing offenses out of rhythm. With the ball in her hands, she plays even faster, showing a strong feel for getting to her spots.

She also flashed her ability as a spot-up shooter, knocking down a three from the top of the key and another from the wing off swing action. Adding to her scoring versatility, she attacked off the dribble and made the right read, pulling up before the defense could collapse for a smooth free-throw line jumper.

With her motor, defensive presence, and developing offensive package, expect April to make a noticeable rise in the rankings next year.

Winfield emerged as one of the top perimeter threats in Class 3, earning Region 3A Player of the Year honors while consistently leading Hopewell in scoring throughout the postseason. A confident and prepared shooter, she excels at spotting up from deep, particularly in the corners, where her footwork and quick release allow her to capitalize on catch-and-shoot opportunities. Her off-ball movement standout, as she does a great job relocating, reading the defense, and finding open space for kick-out threes. Beyond scoring, she contributes across the board, showing solid playmaking instincts and defensive activity with steals and smart positioning. Winfield’s ability to stretch the floor and produce in key moments makes her one of the more reliable guards in Class 3.

April has been on a three game tear early this season! She has average 23 points a game with has included a 26 points game had a game high 6 steals also averaging 4 assist a game.

April had quite a few dazzling plays from spin move finishes to dynamic reverses. She mad jaw dropping play after play that even the other players had to appreciate. She was very aggressive on the defensive end using her footwork to deny the ball and stay locked in on ball handlers.

April is a great combo guard with good point guard skills! She has had a great impact for Hopewell these two past seasons. She was tied for second in the state for freshman in scoring at almost 19 points per game and this season she averaged 18.1 points a game! Offensively she can get it done from anywhere, fast and quick with the ball in her hands. Look for her to have a big season as a starter on the FBC Havoc 16U team!

Her ability to attack the rim with strength and aggression makes her a versatile scoring threat with a nice three point shot!

She had a lot of terrific moves, and I loved the way she consistently kept her head up to find her teammates. I loved one move in particular: she drove by a defender and cradled the ball over another to finish a layup. April knocked down a few jumpers and looked like she is poised to have a big year as a lead guard.

April is a great athlete and a fantastic finisher. You see this when she would force turnovers and get out in transition. April is difficult to stay in front of, and since you are so concerned with her shooting, she can use her speed to blow by defenders. She never shies away from contact when she goes to finish and is one of the best slashers in the state.
