About Aryana

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Playing aggressive full court defense with great effort & attitude is the backbone of my game, which I consistently work to improve. Many things happen in games that I can't control but I can always control my effort and attitude. I am a solid ballhandler with a consistent jump shot who looks to shoot off the catch or dribble, and attack gaps to create scoring opportunities for my teammates and I.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

As a year-round multi sport athlete (volleyball, basketball, softball) playing with high confidence and trusting the hard work I put in fuels my competitiveness and enjoyment. Two things are certain. I know I will make mistakes and I always look to make the next play. My favorite quote is "no one who ever gave his best regretted it". My favorite athlete is Steph Curry.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am always on the Superior Honor Roll for having straight A's. I am also currently on the Student Council and represented Hilbert in the Middle School Academic Bowl in 2025 and 2026.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Team communication, leadership, and mental toughness are the three most important "soft skills" to play the PG position at a high level. I had a great appreciation for my 8th grade coach challenging me on all three this season, as I know this will help my personal development on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Being a team leader is very challenging. What's most difficult is holding teammates accountable in practices, who don't love basketball as much as I do or play as much as me. Also managing time with school, sports, friends, and work can be tough at times, but my parents are great at helping me through it all.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college that can give me the best education.
