Rutzen is the ultimate player, she shined in the 3 on 3 games by getting to the basket. That stellar play transitioned into the full court games where she was very good on the defensive side of things. I will keep an eye on Rutzen to see how her first high school season goes.

The Slinger native was comfortable playing off the ball and made some plays that caught my eye. I thought she played helpside defense well and found ways to get her hands on the ball by reading the opposing team’s offense. I also liked her instincts because she showed she knew when to abandon her defensive assignment to double the ball handler and force turnovers.

Rutzen put on a show all weekend. In one game, with her team down 12, she took over offensively and went on a run of her own, shifting the momentum and ultimately leading Team Impact to the win and first place in their pool.
