Expert Analysis
Sam Duren | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Threes and energy best described watching Gascon on Saturday morning. She was the tip of a spear for a sharpshooting win for her team. Covers ground well on defense as quick trapper, leading to transition points for herself and teammates. Plays with the requisite energy smaller guards need to thrive at the next level. Something that college coaches seem to agree with. As Gascon has added offers from Tabor and Sterling.

The small town sharpshooter recently took a visit south to Durant and picked up an offer from Southeastern Oklahoma State. With a compact and lightning quick release from three, it shouldn’t be a surprise. Especially as she’s accurate in those shots. It’s a good spring start for the sharpshooter, who is also displaying her quality all around game with CyFair-Thompson. With a college pedigree in her family, the doors should continue to open for Gascon.

The small town standout has a quick release and deep range. Once Gason crosses halfcourt the defense always has to account for her. Will likely slot initially at the next level as an off the ball spacer. But this season has seen her creation skills grow with a bigger role. Doesn’t force bad looks, and has the vision and passing touch to take advantage of the attention the defense gives her. Strong junior season for a shooter who is now more of a complete guard.

A lights out shooter, who is ticketed for a bigger role for the Class 3A Lady Wildcats of Bethel. Gascon consistently caught the eye of the PGH network this spring and summer. When given spot up opportunities, she’ll still shine as a rhythm shooter who can string together makes in a hurry. And now will have more of a chance to show off her heady lead guard skills. With a chance to have the offense flow through her, Gascon looks set to make the most of her new opportunity.

A shooting guard that got hot during the second game of the day. Knocking down 4 in a row at one point from beyond the arch. Great handles in the open floor with vision up the court making several great passes to her teammate leading to layup’s. A shooter you must locate at all times cause she does a excellent job of relocating without the ball. Shooting mechanics are on point as feet and hands were ready to shoot on the catch.
Listed as a shooter guard for good reasons but I also feel that she can handle the point guard position if needed. Nice dribbling skills and vision also support the move to point as well. Therefore I would list her as a combo guard that can handle the 1-2 position. Good verbal skills with her teammate showing a high basketball IQ.

All around scorer, with quality handles. On drives, she appears to have a great floater that she breaks out 4-8 feet from the rim. She compliments her ability to attack with a reliable three point line jumper. The type of scorer who makes it looks easy, as she’s in control, playing at her own pace and is confident.
