Ava continued to be a walking double-double all summer long. She continued to expand her offensive game outside of the paint. She looked comfortable operating from the mid-range and even stepped out further to the three-point line from time to time. She will enter her senior season as possibly the best rebounder in the state.

Lewis is as steady as they come as far as production is concerned. She’s averaging close to a double double for her career, and I expect those numbers to rise this year. She’s very efficient from the mid-range in on offense and consistently shows the ability to finish with either hand around the basket.

Lewis stands at 6’2″ and does a great job of using her size to her advantage in the interior on both sides of the floor.
In 30 games for Casteel last season, Lewis posted 12.5 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.4 blocks, 1.3 steals and 1.3 assists per game. She shot 43% from the field and averaged 1.1 points per possession. She had 12 double-doubles on the season and frequently stuffed the stat sheet across the board.
Lewis will look to build off her momentum entering her junior season at Casteel.

Standing at 6’0″ with an exceptionally long reach, Ava excels on offense in the 15-foot and in range, where she serves as a very good screener capable of either pick-and-pop for a shot or attacking the basket off the bounce. She demonstrates very good interior passing skills, effectively spotting open teammates along the perimeter and delivering precise passes in high-low situations. I anticipate a significant improvement in her offensive game by the next season, especially in having the ball around the nail area, Ava is poised to keep defenders off balance. They will question whether she will take a shot, execute a shot fake, or drive past them. Ava exhibits a keen court vision and sound decision-making while rim running on offense, and she is a crucial player to box out on the offensive glass. With her impressive size, length, and foot speed, Ava can effectively guard all five positions on the court. Her potential to become a significant force in 5A is evident. Ava is currently averaging 12.1 ppg, 9.5 rpg, and 1.6 bpg.
