Making a handful of appearances for St. Croix Prep in her freshman season, Schweiss looks ready to take on a much larger role this year. A beast on the defensive end, she makes opportunities difficult for her opponents no matter where they are on the court. Whether she’s jumping into passing lanes for a steal, contesting shots, or applying pressure on the perimeter, the Lions guard consistently finds ways to disrupt the opposing offense. Ava’s defensive effort doesn’t stop once the shot goes up, as she immediately crashes the boards to secure rebounds and limit second-chance opportunities. Schweiss also does an excellent job of protecting the ball and maintaining possession for her team, using her awareness and hustle to create extra opportunities on offense.
