Santjer helped lead Rugby to the state tournament last season at the point guard position. This is quite an accomplishment to have a freshmen take the responsibility of playing point and having enough success to lead her team to the postseason. Avery balled out at the state tournament. She scored 55 points in the three games the Panthers played, showcasing to the entire state that she is is a talented young player. I expect her to take her game to even bigger heights next season. She is already a good ball-handler and decision maker. She has a quick release and can knock down the deep ball.

Avery is in her second season of varsity action after a very successful eighth grade year.  She averaged 10.2 points per game and recorded 4.9 rebounds per game last season, very impressive for anyone, let alone an 8^th grader.  Avery has started her second varsity season just as impressive as her first.  She is great at getting downhill to the basket and using her strength for tough finishes.  She has begun to stretch her shot to the three-point line and is hoping to become a consistent threat as she progresses through high school.  I anticipate Avery making the All-Region team this season.
