Azhia Kendall
About Azhia
Expert Analysis
Kyle Sandy | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
More of an off-guard slasher, Azhia had to handle the point guard duties against HER Elite EYBL and managed to make the most out of the high-level reps, tossing in 7 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Kendall was able to slice her way to the hoop to create fouls, cashing in on 5-6 attempts at the line. Azhia opened up her scoring with a mid-range jumper. Kendall’s relentless effort was productive even against a team full of D-I stars proving she can hang with anyone.

Kendall was excellent on both days for Porter Sports , but really stood with great games against very good competition on Sunday. Kendall has very good size and length, plays with a high basketball IQ, and can play a number of different positions on the court. When opposing teams made their runs, Kendall kept a cool head and kept making plays eventually shrinking the deficit. Azhia was excellent getting into the paint whether it was on the fast break or in the half court and when she got into the heart of the defense made very good decisions on when to score and when to distribute the ball. Defensively she did a very nice job guarding some of the best players in the state man to man throughout the course of the weekend. She is a definitely a stock riser for me coming out of this event.

Kendall brought one of the most relentless motors in the entire gym. She plays the game at a different speed because of how hard she goes every possession. A true ball magnet, Azhia consistently found herself around the action—whether it was flying in for rebounds, jumping passing lanes, or pushing the break. Offensively, she uses a quick first step to get downhill from both the wing and high post, putting constant pressure on the defense. She follows her shot, crashes the glass, and turns hustle into production. Defensively, her length and activity allow her to guard multiple positions effectively. The motor alone makes her impactful—everything else is a bonus.

Azhia was one of the toughest player to stop when getting downhill on Sunday. She finished it with strength on either side of the rim and converted multiple And One’s because of it. Her blocked shots on players bigger than her was impressive, and she was sneaky on both ends by getting behind her opponents for stealthy steals or easy layups.

Kendall’s Porter Sports 15U team was another of the quintet that qualified for 15U bracket play. The performances of the 2028 notable from Heard County were a massive reason for that success. One of her team’s games would see Porter Sports 15U defeat All Alabama 15U by a final of 60-27 – her team’s most lopsided triumph at the Triumph Region Finals. Kendall scored 13 points – including 11 in the first half of play. Winning play has translated into winning basketball seemingly wherever she goes – whether it is with Porter Sports 15U in grassroots ball or in high school competition where her Braves concluded the 2024-25 campaign with a solid record of 25-4.

High motor guard with long arms. Very effective in the press. Scores downhill at the basket. Helps rebound and sparks fastbreaks.
