Has some advanced moves to create space for jumpers or angles to get downhill and to the basket. She’s also done a great job getting on balance out of her dribble moves and when running off screens to catch and shoot, utilizing some quicker feet to help her cash in with that smooth jumper.

McCartney is a long guard with great shot creation ability for her size and really dominates in the midrange area where she can use her size to back defenders down and sink turnaround shots. Also has the handle to create some space with long crossovers and side-steps and then bury shots. Solid finisher around the basket with either hand. She averaged 16.4 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in her sophomore year, up from 7.0 points and 3.9 rebounds her freshman. She also showed up with a pair of 20-rebound games and 10 double-doubles.

McCartney has outstanding size for a guard/wing and she is starting to really put things together offensively. She is a high-potential player who has shown she can play around bodies down low, stay strong and either use her length to score or find teammates out of doubles. She works well at the high post and has the stroke to capitalize on space or shoot over smaller defenders from that range, and she has shown that stroke could translate to a high-percentage shot from behind the arc.

A skilled, young talent that could possibly take the state of Washington by storm. McCartney stands at 6’2″ and has a lot of length to pair with that height. She works endlessly on both sides of the floor and is someone that could change the outcome of the game because of her mixture of size and discipline.

Brooke is a unique player with great size and length. She took most of her shots in the paint and showed some good footwork, including a nice turn-around jumper. She rebounded well the whole tournament. Despite her height advantage in the paint, she was able to show some perimeter skills. She is easily over 6’0 tall which makes her an interesting player to watch in the next few years as she continues to develop.
