During the most stressful periods of the game, her teammates gravitated toward her for stability and direction. What I love most is that she plays with a relentless “dog mentality” on both ends of the floor. Every movement she makes on the court is intentional, and that fire carries over to the offensive and defensive boards, where she rebounds with a ferocity that matches her elite defensive energy. While she earns her place on this list as a defensive specialist, Brooklyn is a well-rounded threat. The fact that she led her team in assists proves she isn’t just a stopper—she is a high-IQ playmaker who makes everyone around her better.

Smith is smoothly elevating her status each time I see her because she already “gets it” and, even more importantly, she gives it her all on both ends. She uses her frame nicely inside the paint, her turnaround jumper looked good, so did her scoring around the basket, putbacks included. She also defended both inside and outside the paint

Smith shows me something new each time I see her, and seeing her go AFTA the ball off the rim on both ends, as well as loose balls, stood out last time, so did her scoring around the basket. She scored off the dribble, did a solid job defensively in the halfcourt, but her midrange jumper looked good as she knocked it down while being defended

Smith does a good job rebounding on both ends, understands how to get the outlet going and even showed she could handle the ball after grabbing it off the rim. She scored around the basket as well as off the dribble, plus her defense was solid
