Garrison needs to get some more love in the state for the caliber of players they have had the past few season. Schler is the senior leader on a very talented Troopers team. She can do it all for her squad. She is a primary ball-handler but is also very good playing the 2. She is a good athlete and has good size for a guard. Her shooting form is pure and she makes great decisions with the rock. Cara is going to be a force this season for all of her District 8 opponents.

What separates these girls from everyone else is often their passing ability. Cara is another excellent passer in this group and is a super smart player. She finds the open gaps and cuts correctly against zone presses and half-court zone defenses. She almost never makes the wrong decision with her passing, although I would love to see her shoot the ball more. She is a great scoring threat and has a sweet shot from outside. Garrison is going to be TOUGH next year.

Cara’s Garrison Troopers unfortunately missed out on getting to the State Tournament this season due to playing in a very good Region. She still led them to a great season, finishing with 18 wins. Cara is a very nice player and one of the savviest players in the state. I like her ability to play with pace and her decisions with the ball. She can get to the rim and also shoot from outside. Cara is the type of player who is going to use this season as motivation going forward and will come back next season an even better player.

Cara has got her Garrison Troopers playing well and in the top ten in Class B rankings. She is a very steady guard with good size. Garrison utilizes her athletic ability and size and likes to post her up. A few things I really liked about Cara: she has been taught how to do a great post entry pass and I noticed her run after a ball that was out of bounds and hand it to an official. These are two small details that show me she is a very-well rounded player and person. Cara had an outstanding sophomore campaign last year and is backing it up with a great junior season this year.

Cara is a very good player for the Garrison Troopers. Last season she averaged 14.5 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore. She also had 80 steals and 110 assists. Her size allows her to produce in multiple roles for her team. She is able to break opposing team’s press defenses with her ability to pass and see over smaller defenders. She can initiate the offense using her ball handling and decision making skills. She can also post up, where she was effective their first game against the Richardton/Taylor Raiders. Look for Cara to have another exceptional season for the Troopers.
