Each of Carly’s first three seasons, she has been among the state’s leaders in assists per game. She has a real knack for the lead guard position, and even though the roster is significantly different than the group who made it to the Class 1A Final Four two seasons ago, she is still handing out assists at a rate of 5.5 per game, helping the Bulldogs to a 12-3 record to begin this season. Carly is as tough as they come, she plays with a tremendous motor, and she possesses an excellent mind for the game.

I haven’t seen Carly since early in the Spring, but I have always been a big fan of hers. She’s just so tough and aggressive, and she plays with a highly competitive motor. She is a traditional pass-first point guard who has learned how to score it to help her high school team. She plays with her head up, she scans the floor constantly, and she is a fantastic passer. At the same time, she can finish inside through contact, plus she has improved her 3-point shot to keep defenses honest. She also gets inside and rebounds her position well.

Carly finished her junior season averaging 19.6 points, 5.5 assists, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.2 steals per game. She is a guard who can shoot from both outside and inside. What she lacks in height, she makes up for in speed and agility. She handles the ball well and will make quick cuts inside. She is also strong defensively and has quick hands.

Carly is one of my favorite point guards to watch in the 2026 class because she just “gets it”. She is tough, hard-working, and will do whatever she can to help her team win. She is a coach on the floor, she sees things well in advance, and she is an effective communicator with teammates and coaches. She is a strong, compact player who does a nice job of taking care of the basketball and getting it where it needs to go, but she is also a capable scorer who can bury shots when the defense helps off of her. She is one of those kids who goes to a successful small college program and immediately helps them win.

If you want a traditional point guard who is tough-nosed, aware, and just runs the show, Carly could very well be that kid. She is strong and compact, she has nice quickness, but it’s her ability to handle contact and pressure and still get the job done that stand out most. She gets the ball to her teammates on time/on target, but she is also able to shoot/score it herself, and she’s a crafty defender.
