Cornish was one of the most consistent, high-scoring guards in the state for Maynard Jackson. She is without question one of the best shooters in Georgia, whether it is in catch and shoot situations or coming off the dribble. She does an excellent job using her intelligence and experience along with jab steps and step-backs to create the space needed to get her shot off. She finished the year averaging 24 points per game on 56% from the field, 86% from the free throw line, and 51% from three point range totaling 543 points for the season. She is a very skilled scorer, a rare “professional scorer” in prep athletics where a player has one job and that is to put the ball in the basket. She can definitely do that and not just from three, but also finishing at the rim in transition or half court situations, as well as knocking down mid-range jumpers.

Cornish is a high-octane scorer who can heat up quickly. She sprays threes from the perimeter and plays with pace when the ball is in her hands. Quick off the bounce, she can create space for her jumper or attack seams before defenses are set.
What makes her valuable is her ability to play both on and off the ball. She relocates well, understands spacing and doesn’t need to dominate possession to make an impact. In the full-court press, she’s aggressive and active, applying constant pressure. Cornish’s scoring punch and energy give her clear value as a floor-spacer and momentum changer.

Cornish has had a very solid and productive senior season scoring the ball for Maynard Jackson where she is averaging over 25 points per game shooting the ball at an unbelievable 60% make rate. Of the 25, more than nine points per game come on three point shots as Cornish is also averaging over 3 three point shots made per game. Cayden has range that extends a few feet behind the three point line and is just as effective shooting off the dribble as she is in catch and shoot situations. Cornish is also a threat to score on the break and gets to the free throw line often where she is also an excellent shooter.
