About Collette

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am unassuming player with a high IQ that can run, compose, and orchestrate plays in every position. I am strongest as a center guard and center, however as others catch up to my height, I’m getting the support and opportunities to play in different positions. I still have a lot to learn and I am enjoying the process.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by some amazing coaches who believe in my potential and work with me to build mental and physical resilience. My biggest challenge is proving myself in every play and to do that si need to stay focused, disciplined, and fearless.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Awarded for excellence for the congress of future medical leaders from National Academy of Future Doctors.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I play at a club that welcomes all skill levels and age groups. Consequently, I have built my leadership skills in engaging with all levels of players and teams. I understand what it takes to be a good team mate in all circumstances and appreciate every experience as a learning opportunity.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, many challenges. As a taller and bigger player, I have always been placed in the center position. Most coaches don’t fully understand how to develop my position. So, I have had to seek outside support with private trainings. As others are catching up to my height, I am getting more opportunities to play different positions and with the right support will develop my IQ in other positions

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to attend a college with a strong academic program that offers premed and a competitive basketball team.
