Aggressive Scoring Guard. The last time I saw the UT Martin commit she was doing a lot for the team due to injuries. She was the primary ball handler and scorer. MBA looked to have a full squad available to play on this night. Meaning Curnesha could focus on being a scorer. In the first half of this game, Curnesha was aggressively getting to the basket and to the line.

Strong Scoring Guard. I’ve mentioned before how I was impressed with Curnesha’s growth. Her high school team was hit with a series of injuries when I saw them in the MLK tournament back in November. The UT Martin signee has been carrying the team on her shoulders. She has been the vocal leader, a primary ball handler and scorer for the team in the 2 games I was able to watch. As a senior, her game has done exactly what you would want it to do. She has expanded from being an attacking guard to a scoring guard that can knock down long range shots, mid range shots and score at the basket.

Scoring Guard. As a scout (and definitely when I was a college coach), when I watch a player over a period of time, I want to see growth in that player. That’s probably the greatest joy I get as I watch players – witnessing their growth. As I have watched Curnesha play this season, I said to myself, “She has really grown.” She was more of an attacking guard, when she was younger. Now, the UT Martin Signee is in a leadership position and does a fair share of handling the ball. She is making more decisions with the ball in her hand and scoring in more ways than just attacking.

The UT Martin signee missed making the Club by 4 points. She scored 26 points vs Crosstown. I’ve recently talked about the development of Curnesha. She has transformed from a strong attacking guard to more of a scorer. She can knock down the 3 ball, the pull up and get to the basket.

Scoring Guard. After watching the UT Martin signee a couple of times in the MLK, I’m adding her to my list of intense players. She plays super, super locked-in. She is really expanding her game this season. She is a high motor player. From what I saw in the past, she was primarily an attacker. I see her developing into more of a scorer. She is taking more mid range shots and knocking down 3s.

Strong Shooting Guard. In the previous times I’ve seen Curnesha play, she displayed her high motor and ability to get to the basket. She has a very strong frame that she uses to attack. In this event, I got the opportunity to see her shooting abilities including a pull up and 3 point shot.
