Powell put up the most impressive scoring game of the weekend locking in 31 points vs one of the top teams in Mississippi. She took the game personal and matched up with a big guard and just went to work. Every possession, she was locked in and intimidating defensively and causing havoc in the open court. Powell’s 31 is just a peak into what she can do on the court. 31 points with La Tech sitting courtside is as clutch as it comes. Remember the name, “KOTA”, because she is a game changer.

Powell has earned a spot on the deep Ruston Varsity roster and is playing meaningful minutes, but she is doing her damage on the JV level right now and waiting her turn. On Varsity she defends at a high level, scores in spurts and plays with poise at the 5A level. As a middle school player on Varsity at Simsboro she was a two year all District Honoree. Powell is one to watch and a key piece to Ruston and their season success.
