Da’Naiya is an elite rebounder who controls the glass and does most of her work in the mid-range and low post. She makes quick moves to the rim and finishes with touch. Her athleticism makes her a threat on both ends of the floor.

As a post player, Hickey checks boxes on both ends. On defense, she isn’t afraid to match up against taller post players to battle in the paint. She gives up nothing on the block and makes her opponents have to work for everything. She is strong on the boards, clearing the defensive boards to give her team the advantage. She is also mobile enough to match up and contain wing players without giving up anything. On offense, Da’Naiya is off to the races. She catches many other post players off guard the way that she runs the floor for layups. In the half court setup she can play with her back to the basket, she is strong with the ball in her hands to finish through contact in the paint. She can also hit the high post shots to keep her defenders on her toes. This summer with Mile High United , Da’Naiya will bring the energy to carry them all the way through August.

Playing at a smaller school does not stop this PF from being dominant on the court. Averaging a double-double for the Wolves, Hickey is definitely a force in the paint. Listed at only 5’9″ you would never know it. She skys above taller post players for rebounds on both ends, with nearly 7 offensive boards per game for put back points for her team. Her quickness puts her in the passing lanes, getting steals and easy layups. Da’Naiya uses her quickness to her advantage on offense as well. She runs the floor very well, with really good hands to get easy points and make taller post player tired. She can score with her back to the basket and from the mid-range. Notching just over 22 points per game, she can score from all over the floor. The momentum from her impressive high school season will propel this junior to an equally impressive summer.

Da’Naiya has been a dominant force in the paint, leading the state with 28.5 points per game. Her ability to score inside at will, coupled with her knack for drawing fouls, makes her nearly unstoppable. Shooting 47% from the field and consistently getting to the free-throw line, she’s the driving force behind her team’s 4-2 start. She’s not just scoring but also filling the stat sheet with 13 rebounds and 4.8 steals per game, showcasing her all-around impact. As DSST College View heads into the break, Da’Naiya’s play has set a high bar for the rest of the season.
